What
About Filtered Drinking Water?
For
many years now we at Water Value Company have maintained
that the best way to treat your drinking water is through
some type of near purification method such as reverse
osmosis (RO) or distillation. Most common sediment
or carbon filters cannot remove all of the nasty elements
in our drinking water. The only drawbacks to RO or distillation
are the cost, the setup and the maintenance. While still
quite inexpensive at $168
delivered, most of the people that opt out of using
an RO take advantage of the easy availability of bottled
water. Even though the investment in effort of a few quick
connections can provide better than bottled water results
right out of your kitchen's sink, many do not feel up to
the task of installing a filtration or purification system
themselves. Now, thanks to a new product by Nelsen Corp.,
connecting a filter system to your kitchen sink just got
a whole lot easier.
The
Counter-Top filtration system by Nelsen is even easier to
use and connect than most off-the-shelf faucet filter devices
made and distributed by national companies. This device
compares with the popular pitcher style water filters and
the faucet attached devices for ease of use and effectiveness,
but that's where the similarities end. This counter-top
filter canister is often less expensive than the pitchers
or faucet mount filters and best of all, it accepts any
standard sized 9-3/4 inch filter cartridge available just
about anywhere. The replacement filters for the national
name-brand pitchers and faucet attachments run anywhere
from $22 to $34 where a typical 5-micron sediment filter
for the Nelsen counter-top filter costs as little as $5
at the local supermarket. It is also important to consider
that the surface area of a standard 5-micron sediment filter
or activated carbon filter is considerably more than the
typical pitcher or faucet filter meaning each standard cartridge
filter will treat more water at higher flow rates and last
much longer.

The
Counter-Top drinking water filter kit does not need installation
instructions. Simply attach the included diverter valve
to your sink's faucet, run the included water line over
to the filter canister and you're ready to do. There's even
a mounting screw option included if you so desire. This
has got to be the easiest and least expensive method of
filtering out sediment, sand, chlorine, taste & odor
or other contaminants in your drinking water.
You
choose what type of filter you want to use depending on
what contaminants are in your water. Want to remove chlorine,
sodium, odor or reduce lead and improve your water's flavor?
Use an activated carbon filter cartridge. Do you have sediment
or turbidity in your water? Use a 5 or even 1 micron sediment
filter. There are all types of filters available for all
types of water treatment in the standard 9-3/4 inch size.
There are even reusable filters! Get your filters from us
in bulk over at our cartridge
filter page and save a lot of money over single filter
purchases, or simply pick one up at the local hardware/plumbing/supermarket
store.
