Water Weekly for 1/15/2007

Even More Detailed Information Available

Despite all of the information on our web site, there are still some unknowns when people receive their products. One customer wrote to me and was concerned that while there was an owner's manual included with his manganese/greensand iron filter system, it did not pertain specifically to greensand filters. Yet another customer contacted us after purchasing a Terminator iron removal system wondering which of the two empty tanks was supposed to perform as the filter and which was to be the air-mix tank. And while less frequent but still occurring is the phone call asking why the softener tank is delivered empty as opposed to filled.

All valid questions. While the answers are certainly on the web site in one location or another, there are obviously times when it is not noticed or not found. That is why we are starting a new campaign to compose specific instructions for each of the products sold on our web site. These specific instructions will be right next to the "Add To Cart" button required to make the purchase. Because all of the products we carry have been tested, installed, setup and used by us, we have had intimate experience with them. We can provide insights pertaining to specific controller configurations, reverse osmosis components and connections, testing and monitoring equipment usage, setup instruction and operation requirements.

We started doing this when we kept getting questions about the Fleck model 7000 on demand water softener programming and setup. While Fleck did a great job with their instruction manual for the 7000, some people were not quite clear on some aspects of it. So we posted a link that dealt in detailed step-by-step programming of this control valve. The Fleck 9000 has a wonderful revised setup manual but the updated manual also includes instructions for the models 9100 and 9500 which may have confused some end users. So we came up with a quick and easy setup page for those too.

Currently we have specific setup information for the Fleck models 7000 and 9000 along with a detailed assembly and setup page for water softeners and automatic filters. We also have detailed assembly and setup instructions for our greensand backwashing filters. We are currently working on assembly and setup instructions for the Terminator iron filter systems and a guide to reverse osmosis filter and membrane changing. All of these instructions are or will be posted on the respective product's pages.

At Water Value Company, we feel strongly that there should be no disappointment or suprises when your equipment arrives. We are proud of the equipment we sell and the manufacturers we represent and we will continue to strive to ensure that our customers are well informed and confident about their dealings with us.
