What Is TDS?

Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) are the total weight of all solids (minerals, salts or metals) that are dissolved in a given volume of water expressed in milligrams per liter (mg/L), or in parts per million (ppm).

The lower the TDS level in the water, the more efficiently your body's cells actually get hydrated by the water you drink.

The higher the TDS level in the water, the greater the probability of harmful contaminants that can pose health risks or hinder the absorption of water molecules on the cellular level.

The EPA's Maximum Contaminant Level of TDS in secondary drinking water is 500 mg/L (500 ppm).

HM Digital DM-1 Installation

1. Turn off all water sources first.

2. Cut the tubes leading to and from your water reverse osmosis system.

3. Insert both cut ends of the tube leading to the system into the "Line In" fitting. Insert both cut ends of the tube leading from the reverse osmosis system into the "Line Out" fitting.

4. Ensure the connection is snug. To remove the fitting from hose or sensor, simply press the grey ring against the fitting and slide out.

5. Attach the base unit either to the reverse osmosis system or to a convenient viewing location with the Velcro stickers.

6. Turn the unit on with the on/off switch. Switching from In to Out (line 1 to line 2) will display the TDS levels for the respective lines.

7. Turn your water back on and check for leaks.
