Flow
Rates For Various Media and Tank Sizes
To
help you choose the proper size automatic backwashing filter
system for your needs, the following media flow rate table
should help. Keep in mind that your water system should
provide at minimum the proper backwashing flow rate for
the media and filter size you choose. Also, the information
presented here is based on a 1-inch internal control valve.
Some controllers, such as the Fleck model 7000, have larger
internal passages and can provide a bit higher flow rate
for a given media and tank size combination. Please refer
to the specific filter system's specifications and published
flow rate.

selection only. The flow rates posted are derived under
test conditions and do not take into account various water
pressures and temperatures which can affect flow rate.
