No Salt Water Conditioner

June 26, 2007 |

This is an exciting development. This is a water softener that does not use chemicals or salt and it is NOT a magnet. It is a revolutionary media that alters the physical properties of the hardness minerals in your water rendering them incapable of adhering to surfaces such as your pipes, water fixtures and shower doors to name a few. It has all the advantages of conventional water softener treatment without the use of additives, electricity or that slippery feeling (which some people like and some do not). This amazing media was developed by a company called CWG USA (Clean Water Group).
They have detailed specification on their web site and we have them on ours as well at the Filtersorb SP section. Basically, a small amount of this Filtersorb SP media is placed in a media tank, the size of which is determined by flow rate and contact time. You size the system based on your water system’s flow rate. The idea is to provide the input water at least 9 seconds of contact time to perform its hardness alteration. When the water comes out of the Filtersorb SP tank, the hardness molecules are crystallized and therefore unable to adhere to surfaces. You still use 50% less soap, no pipe scale or bathroom scale, and it even cleans any mineral deposits and scale out of your plumbing!

Water Value has these systems set up with a simple Clack up-flow in and out head, bypass valve and connectors. There is no control valve to set or plug in, no extra tank for holding chlorides and no chemicals. That’s all there is to it. It is the simplest water treatment system to connect that we’ve ever seen.

We are currently testing two other sizes (small and large) and should have those available by next week, but the medium system we have available now has a flow rate range of 5 to 7 gallons which will work for the majority of homes.
