Air-Gap Faucet
June 11, 2007 |
We now have a standard air-gap faucet available online for reverse osmosis systems. This is a standard air-gap faucet that should fit nearly all RO systems. It should be noted that the Tomlinson designer faucets we carry on that same page come with a removable air-gap so that they may work with either configuration.
So what is an air-gap? It’s simply a mechanism that prevents bad, dirty water from backing up into your reverse osmosis system. Not all ROs require an air-gap, a lot depends on how your drain line is plumbed in. Basically, if there is no way that drain water can back up into your RO drain line, then you do not need an air-gap.
Air-gaps for reverse osmosis systems are typically incorporated at either the drain line connection or up at the RO faucet. For faucet air-gap connections, an air-gap equipped faucet is required. That is why we have now made the air-gap version of our standard RO faucet available.
