Updating Filtration Section

Currently we are updating the filter cartridge section of our web site. We are attempting to include digital photos of every cartridge we carry so that there are fewer unknowns for people attempting to purchase these types of water filtration. While the look of the filter section might change, the filters and prices will not, so if you do not see what you are looking for, please feel free to contact us with your specific requirements.

It sure was a busy week last week! We had more multiple and quantity sales than I can remember in recent history. Don’t forget, if you are ordering 3 or more systems such as water softeners, automatic filters, chlorinators, UV filters and such, be sure to contact us for a written quote. Often times we can save you even more money over the posted price.

Last week, a customer contacted us about the status of his order. Apparently, he ordered a case of chlorine pellets and UPS sent them to the wrong address. He placed this order nearly a month ago. If you order anything from our web site and there is no “special order” statement on the order detail page, you should receive your product within 5 business days. If you do not, please contact us with your Water Value order number, and we can easily track it down. If there is a circumstance beyond your control involved with the delay of your order, Water Value will make it right immediately as we did with the above mentioned chlorine pellets. UPS made the mistake and all of our shipments are insured, so we’ll get our pellets back. In the mean time, we want to make sure you get your order in a timely manner, so do not wait a month to check with us. We will ship out a replacement right away. Fortunately, this type of thing does not happen very often with UPS.

FedEx Shipments

We have had a few incidents with FedEx Home shipping recently and we are probably going to cease to use their service. What was exciting about FedEx was the fact that we could count on Saturday deliveries and they were also a full day faster getting product to our farthest destinations such as Florida and Texas. But this last incident and the damage to product as a result of it, are unacceptable.

It is perfectly understandable for a delivery driver have a bad day or even some bad luck. And during the Christmas season, with huge increases in shipping volume, damage from seasonal package handlers can be overlooked to a point, but inconsistent shipping charges and rough package handling on a more or less regular basis is not understandable. So while a decision has not been officially made as yet, we will most likely be using UPS Ground and USPS only beginning tomorrow. We will continue using R&L Carriers for our larger and multiple systems.

Quick Note From The Road

Half of us are at the GE Dealer Expo for the new stainless steel control valve demonstrations and training. Once I know any more about them, I’ll post it here.

BAD storm on the way down but the weather is okay now. All orders shipping 2 hours after placed! This new equipment we have is going to work out even better than promised.

No phone support for tomorrow only. Email us if you need us at support@watervalue.com. Thanks!

Water Testing Kits Are In

The new water testing kits are in. We have the Well Water Testing Kit available online now. This kit is ideal for testing the amount of hardness, iron, pH and such elements that are common in private well water systems. Each kit contains two tests for each contaminant so that you can record your water results before treatment and after treatment. The results from these tests are very important in helping to choose the proper treatment equipment and methods for solving your water problems. These kits are reliable and accurate, but they are also inexpensive and come with informative easy to follow instructions and treatment recommendations.

The amount of time wasted on the phone trying to guess at water treatment solutions for customer’s water symptoms is incalculable. These kits will take all the time and guess work out of diagnosing water treatment methods.

The “City Water” test kits should be available online this week also along with a “Complete” water testing kit which covers over a dozen tests – time two – which covers more contaminants than I care to list here. A complete list will be available on our water test web page by the end of the week.

More Training

On May 15th and 16th, we will be training for Autotrol (GE Water & Process Technology) in Indiana for their latest control valve offerings and the LOGIX and Merlin RO systems. While the office staff that takes care of emails and product orders will be at work and busy, there will be no phone support for those two days. After all, in order to properly answer your questions, we need to keep up to date and refreshed on water treatment methods. If you have installation or setup questions on those dates, just look for the answers online or send us an email. We will still be handling email questions even during the training sessions. Our commitment to service and support is what sets Water Value apart from all of the other suppliers and we take our role very seriously.

As most of you already know, the new phone system is up and running. Our technicians are now “wireless” and able to go into the shop to reference hands-on the piece of equipment you are calling about. This worked out very well for me personally yesterday when a customer had a clogged drain line on the Fleck 7000 filter system. Remember, when opening the water valve to your auto-filter or softener for the first time, be sure to do it gently to prevent air from being trapped in the top of the tank.

Growing Pains

No excuses, but we now have a new phone system, new computers and new software. We will also be training new employees and some of the old ones – like myself – will be training as well. This is all to be expect what with all of the rapid growth that has been going on here at WaterValue.com. We knew it was coming, and it probably should have happened sooner than now, but we are growing fast and we need to keep up with demand.

So as far as orders, assembly, packaging and shipping are concerned, there will be no delay. As a matter of fact, because the phone service has been off line for the last few days (except for customers that already have the phone numbers), we have had more time to spend on getting the orders off of the hard drives and out of the doors. We are actually able to ship EVERYTHING less than two hours after we receive the order! We are still using one of our old servers to compile and place equipment orders and because the phone calls have dropped by nearly 90% for the time being, nobody has to work late! It is surprising how much time that telephone was taking from us. But I still find myself looking forward to talking one-on-one with potential customers; it was a major part of the day.

But it appears that the equipment and software upgrades are going well. We will soon have everything up and running normally and quite possibly faster. I doubt we’ll be able to match the two hour turn around we’re experiencing presently, but there will be an improvement. One of them will be the fact that each of us water treatment technicians will be able to easily add or change content on the web site directly without crashing the thing. This should be interesting.

Another improvement/feature will be the ease of adding streaming video to the web site. Right now we have a sample of the Fleck 7000 softener video online at its details page. Just go there and click on the “Product Video” link.

And finally, we’ll be able to process phone calls and messages faster and more efficiently. Not only is the hardware being upgraded to hold more voice messages, but our incoming call times will be limited. It’s important to point out that our customers who need setup and assembly help over the phone will not be cut off, it’s just that the incoming calls where questions are being asked that do not pertain to water treatment solutions may be cut short. After all, the answers to all common water treatment equipment questions are already on the web site.
